Brown silk dupioni rose, handmade by me.  I’m semi-documenting the process of flower making on my new blog.  There isn’t a lot of information out there so I want to share my experiences with anyone interested in learning.

Each petal is cut out of silk, starched, curled with special flower irons, and assembled by hand.  It takes hours of work to make a single flower, but it’s worth it.  Especially when it is sometimes near impossible to find something as seemingly simple as a perfect black rose.
